Welcome Back to School!
Dear East Chambers Families and Staff,TitWelcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you have enjoyed a summer filled with rest, family, and special memories. As we begin another exciting year together, I am filled with gratitude and anticipation for what lies ahead.
This year's district theme is "Buccaneers, Own the Moment." Every day, we are given opportunities to make a difference in the lives of our students. Whether it is encouraging a child who needs confidence, celebrating a success, helping a student through a challenge, or simply offering a smile in the hallway, those moments matter. When we intentionally choose to own each moment, we strengthen relationships, inspire excellence, and create a school culture where every child can thrive.
Our teachers and staff have been working throughout the summer preparing classrooms, planning engaging lessons, and getting everything ready for an outstanding school year. We cannot wait to welcome our students back!
I also want to encourage our parents and community members to become involved in our schools. One of the greatest ways to support our students is by participating in your campus PTO or one of our many Booster Clubs. These organizations provide invaluable support to our students, teachers, and extracurricular programs while building strong partnerships between our schools and our community. We invite you to get involved and help us make this an incredible year for our Buccaneers.
Please mark your calendars for Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10, 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to meet their teachers, become familiar with their classrooms, and begin the school year with excitement and confidence. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
As we begin this new school year together, thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating your children. We recognize that educating students is a partnership between our schools, our families, and our community. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
On behalf of the East Chambers ISD Board of Trustees, our administrators, teachers, and staff, welcome back! We are excited for another outstanding year and look forward to making every moment count. Here's to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year! Go Bucs! Andrea Smith Superintendent East Chambers ISD |

Returning Student Registration

Families can complete this process using the Parent Portal. For additional information, visit our website - https://www.eastchambers.net/o/east-chambers-isd/page/enrollment-registration New school start times for 2026-27 school year East Chambers schools will have new start times this year. All schools will begin the day at 8:10 a.m. The start and end times are as follows: East Chambers Primary - 8:10 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. East Chambers Elementary - 8:10 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. East Chambers Junior High - 8:10 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. East Chambers High School - 8:10 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

| Board approves New Director of Technology
East Chambers ISD is excited to introduce Ryo Atha as the district's new Director of Technology. While this is a new leadership role, Ryo is already a familiar face across the district, beginning his ninth year serving EC students and staff.
Originally from North Houston, where he lived in The Woodlands, Tomball and Magnolia areas, Ryo’s career journey has taken several unique turns. After attending MediaTech Institute, he spent six years traveling the country as a live sound engineer for a national touring band. When he decided it was time to settle closer to home, he even earned an Associate degree in Culinary Arts before discovering his passion for educational technology.
Over the past eight years at East Chambers ISD, Ryo has served in a variety of technology roles, developing a deep understanding of the district's schools, systems and technology needs. His experience and commitment to supporting teaching and learning have prepared him well for this leadership position.
Ryo and his wife, Sadie, an East Chambers alumna, have been married for seven years. This school year is especially exciting for their family as their daughter, Ophelia, begins school at East Chambers Primary. Outside of work, Ryo enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and playing guitar.
"As I start my ninth year with the district, this new chapter feels especially meaningful, not just as a staff member, but as a proud EC parent," Ryo said. "I am deeply invested in our district both behind the scenes and in the classroom, and I look forward to supporting our students, staff and community in this new role." |
